RBIS Academic Overview

Welcome to RBIS – A School That Sees You

At RBIS, we recognise each student’s unique strengths, passions, and potential. Our personalised approach ensures that every learner receives the support and opportunities they need to thrive.

Our school follows the British Curriculum from Early Years to Secondary, providing a globally recognised and structured education. The UK education system consists of distinct key stages:

  • Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) (Ages 18 months – 5 years): Focuses on play-based learning and foundational skills.
  • Key Stage 1 & 2 (Primary) (Ages 5 – 11): Develop core subjects, problem-solving, and independent learning.
  • Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9, Ages 11 – 14): Prepares students for Pre-IGCSE with a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Key Stage 4 (Years 10–11, Ages 14 – 16): Building a strong academic foundation with IGCSE exams
  • Key Stage 5 (Years 12–13, Ages 16 – 18): Offers A-Levels, BTEC, or a High School Diploma, leading to university admission.

The Foundation for Lifelong Learning

Early Years education nurtures curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning, building essential skills in communication, literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving within a creative and supportive environment.

The Primary Years strengthen knowledge-based learning and work ethic, which are the keys to future success. Students develop critical thinking, responsibility, and independence while exploring music, performing arts, and sports. The school provides opportunities to showcase and cultivate their talents, helping them build confidence, teamwork, and resilience.

This stage is also where children form friendships, develop social skills, and grow in confidence, laying the foundation for a smooth transition to secondary education.

Shaping Future Leaders

The secondary years at RBIS shape students’ academic knowledge, skills, and character. From Year 7 to Year 9, our curriculum builds a strong foundation for pre-IGCSE and beyond.

With our Future Focus: 4 Years to Success from Year 10 - Year 13. Post 16 programme or Year 12 - Year 13, students choose personalised pathways after IGCSE, including A-Levels, BTEC, or a High School Diploma, leading to university admission. These 4 years will focus at IGCSE, A-Levels, IELTS, and SAT ensures students are fully supported—no external classes are needed.

At RBIS, every student has valuable opportunities to cultivate leadership skills through activities like student councils, Model United Nations, and community service. Our teachers provide mentorship and guidance, aiding them in overcoming challenges while fostering confidence and a global perspective. All students are inspired to assume leadership positions by managing clubs and engaging in conferences, helping them build a robust personal portfolio that ensures they graduate equipped with the skills and experiences necessary for future success..

Overview of the School Journey

Each stage of a child’s development is equally important and shapes their growth differently. At RBIS, we prioritise subject knowledge, essential skills, and enriching experiences as the core of our academic delivery. Beyond academics, we instil ethical and moral values, shaping character and nurturing well-rounded individuals.

School is about personal connections and meaningful experiences. Our dedicated teaching staff knows each student as an individual. We listen, encourage, and support them at every stage of their journey. This commitment is reflected in our personalised pathways, where Post-16 students can choose A-Levels, BTEC, or a High School Diploma, tailoring their education to their strengths and university aspirations.

Our English as an Additional Language (EAL) programme successfully supports students who need language development, helping them transition into mainstream classes quickly. Additionally, our Nurturing Programme for students with special educational needs reflects our belief that education is for all, ensuring every student receives the support they need to thrive.

Everything we do—from events, trips, competitions, and extracurricular activities to academic support, counselling, and personal mentorship—is designed to provide unique opportunities for students to excel while maintaining a balanced and joyful approach to learning.
