The Thai government has transferred two of the days of national Songkran celebrations postponed from earlier in the year by the precautions in place to protect against covid virus.
The students in all of the different departments of RBIS celebrated the first of these national days in school.
Wearing the bright and beautiful shirts associated with Songkran the students took part in activities organised by the staff of the school's Thai cultural programme.
Offerings of water were made to an image of the Buddha, and blessings shared with the international and local staff of the school.
Students enjoyed traditional Thai dancing, seasonal stories were told and art projects completed.
Of course water play was an element of the celebrations, but in the new environment of social distancing, this year's supervised activities took place in the school swimming pools.
Everyone shared in the generosity of the parents of the community who contributed traditional Thai desserts for the students and staff to enjoy!
