Meet the new Faces at RBIS

Dr Wayne Sharpe

Position: Year 6 teacher

Dr Wayne Sharpe is a First Class Honors degree graduate in English Literature, and he also holds a Masters degree, a PGCE in teaching, and a Ph.D. - all from the University of York, England - in Neurocognitive Literary Studies, focusing on the multidimensional ways in which the human brain learns. Wayne has been a teacher for over twenty-five years, a professional vocation in which he holds the very deepest affection, and he is very excited indeed about joining RBIS and working positively and productively with the talented Year 6 students.

Wayne has worked at British international schools in Borneo, Thailand and Myanmar, and he and his family are most happy to be back in Thailand on their latest stimulating, edifying educational adventure! Wayne loves South-East Asia, especially its wonderful peoples, its spectacular wildlife, its spirituality, its breathtaking landscapes, and of course it’s delicious cuisines. Wayne is also an enthusiastic and tireless reader, and an active writer across many forms and genres

Mrs Justine Bell

Position: English and Year 10 Tutor

English, and Literature in particular, is my passion! Having taught in both UK state schools and several international schools for the last 12 years, I find that I learn new ideas and perspectives from my students each and every day... I have the pleasure of being a lifelong learner whilst at work!

I am excited to be a member of the RBIS community as the school's values very much mirror my own - the idea that we should strive to always aim higher, the importance that we place in being well-rounded and the opportunities that we provide for students to be leader.

Obviously, I am an avid reader, but I also enjoy the theatre and visual arts, as well as learning to knit. I enjoy playing netball and have a rediscovered love of badminton! I am looking forward to learning more about the culture of Thailand and the traditions of the country, all whilst enjoying the amazing food!
