Nursery Activities - RBIS

Nursery Activities

Students in Nursery have been having fun learning and doing different indoor and outdoor activities.

Understanding the World

Nursery students were able to name the different parts of their body. They enjoyed singing songs about parts of the body like, “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” and “One Little Finger”. We also read the story From Head to Toe by Eric Carle.

They continue to learn about counting up to 5 objects. They have already learned a lot of number songs during this term such as, “Five Green Bottles”, “Five Little Ducks”, “Five Little Monkeys” and more. They also enjoyed learning and following colour patterns using building blocks and counters.

Nursery had fun with our outdoor activities like running, obstacle course and playing with beanbags.

Physical Development

We continue to practise our Fine Motor Skills doing different activities in the classroom. Nursery enjoyed sorting pompom balls, tracing lines and drawing figures on sand.

About me

I graduated from Keele University, UK, with a degree in Biology and Mathematics and then continued on to study towards my PGCE. After graduating I worked at a school in the UK teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This gave me an opportunity to teach a wide range of scientific topics at different levels.

Why you I like to work at RBIS

Since working at RBIS, I have had the opportunity to develop my Physics and Mathematics teaching to students at iGCSE and A-Level. Students at RBIS are so polite and hardworking and they are a pleasure to teach.

More about Mr Brougham

" As some of you may know, I am a keen sportsman. As a student at school and university I competed for many teams in Fencing, Badminton, Atheltics and Squash. Fencing however, is my primary sport. I have been fortunate enough to compete for the Great Britain U17, U20, Student and Senior teams at international tournaments around the world. Fencing taught me a lot growing up, it taught me how to win graciously, lose with dignity and most of all, how to work hard towards a goal. Whilst at RBIS, I am excited to be able to help students achieve their goals both inside and outside of school."
