Community service Day 2 - RBIS

Today the first part of our project was completed- the library now had a new roof. We were able to help with taking off the old roof and then watched as the new one was assembled .We had time for games with the children - bingo is really popular with them. Once again the children loved pur company and we had many happy moments with them.

Today the school game as a Thai lunch it was really tasty especially the somtum. Heavy rain stopped us for a short while but then we had the opportunity to start our painting. Today we put the undercoat on the walls inside the library. Tomorrow we will begin putting the top coat on - yellow outside and green inside. Everything is beginning to come together which is great.
My favorite part of the day
The most enjoyable was giving the young children a piggy-back
My favorite part of the day was when we were all singing along to a song while putting on the base layer.
My favorite part of the day was teaching the children maths and playing games with them.
My favorite part of the day was using the pressurized hose. Which Junior found quite fascinating.

About me

I graduated from Keele University, UK, with a degree in Biology and Mathematics and then continued on to study towards my PGCE. After graduating I worked at a school in the UK teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This gave me an opportunity to teach a wide range of scientific topics at different levels.

Why you I like to work at RBIS

Since working at RBIS, I have had the opportunity to develop my Physics and Mathematics teaching to students at iGCSE and A-Level. Students at RBIS are so polite and hardworking and they are a pleasure to teach.

More about Mr Brougham

" As some of you may know, I am a keen sportsman. As a student at school and university I competed for many teams in Fencing, Badminton, Atheltics and Squash. Fencing however, is my primary sport. I have been fortunate enough to compete for the Great Britain U17, U20, Student and Senior teams at international tournaments around the world. Fencing taught me a lot growing up, it taught me how to win graciously, lose with dignity and most of all, how to work hard towards a goal. Whilst at RBIS, I am excited to be able to help students achieve their goals both inside and outside of school."
