Studying: Biology, English language, ICT and Geography.

There is a big difference between the courses. In IGCSE's i find that memorizing and remembering the lessons were enough to pass or even get A,A*. Whereas in As, you'd really have to have a deep understanding and be able to recreate scenarios and know what the output would be. Which require a much more developed, advance and complex skill to answer.

The subjects that we get to study from are very interesting and the teachers support us and engage us into a good understanding .

Studying: English Language, Art, Media Studies and ICT.

The teachers are supporting us very well in every subjects: guide us and giving advice. I have to say that the study is quite tough as it’s a preparation before you go to the university.

Alex:

AS-level is amazing, life as an AS student is very challenging but it is also a very enjoyable year. The AS-level subjects are very challenging but it is very enjoyable, especially Media studies because I can get to study how to take a very good picture and I can get to use cameras and take pictures of the school events. As-level is very interesting and I like it.

About me

I graduated from Keele University, UK, with a degree in Biology and Mathematics and then continued on to study towards my PGCE. After graduating I worked at a school in the UK teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This gave me an opportunity to teach a wide range of scientific topics at different levels.

Why you I like to work at RBIS

Since working at RBIS, I have had the opportunity to develop my Physics and Mathematics teaching to students at iGCSE and A-Level. Students at RBIS are so polite and hardworking and they are a pleasure to teach.

More about Mr Brougham

" As some of you may know, I am a keen sportsman. As a student at school and university I competed for many teams in Fencing, Badminton, Atheltics and Squash. Fencing however, is my primary sport. I have been fortunate enough to compete for the Great Britain U17, U20, Student and Senior teams at international tournaments around the world. Fencing taught me a lot growing up, it taught me how to win graciously, lose with dignity and most of all, how to work hard towards a goal. Whilst at RBIS, I am excited to be able to help students achieve their goals both inside and outside of school."
