Employment Opportunities - RBIS

Gifted and Talented

RBIS believes that it is paramount importance that all students, regardless of background, ethnicity or ability, are entitled to an education that will enable them to tap their full potential. This commitment to encompassing all learning types and needs includes providing for the more able, gifted and talented pupils. These students have the ability to perform at significantly higher levels of their age, experience, or environment, whether it be academically, creativity, physically, artistically, emotionally or socially. By imparting them with an individualised, engaging curriculum and allowing for the opportunity to participate in a wealth of challenging activity.

Our enrichment programme allows students to pursue challenges suited to their unique abilities through adaptations to the curriculum, participation in events, competitions, workshops and seminars. With the help of teachers, our Enrichment Coordinator identifies students with extraordinary abilities and plans appropriate enrichment opportunities.

As a school we have been successful in giving our students the opportunity to be challenged and shine. Our students have taken part in a wide range of enrichment activities with their contemporaries from schools around the world to develop their critical thinking, problem solving and collaboration skills. In recent international competitions RBIS students have:

  • Achieved first and second place in the Tournament o Minds completion beating top schools from Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam.
  • Won the World Education Games Science prize beating all schools in Thailand and achieving 3rd in the World in competition with 6.3 million students

About me

I graduated from Keele University, UK, with a degree in Biology and Mathematics and then continued on to study towards my PGCE. After graduating I worked at a school in the UK teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics. This gave me an opportunity to teach a wide range of scientific topics at different levels.

Why you I like to work at RBIS

Since working at RBIS, I have had the opportunity to develop my Physics and Mathematics teaching to students at iGCSE and A-Level. Students at RBIS are so polite and hardworking and they are a pleasure to teach.

More about Mr Brougham

" As some of you may know, I am a keen sportsman. As a student at school and university I competed for many teams in Fencing, Badminton, Atheltics and Squash. Fencing however, is my primary sport. I have been fortunate enough to compete for the Great Britain U17, U20, Student and Senior teams at international tournaments around the world. Fencing taught me a lot growing up, it taught me how to win graciously, lose with dignity and most of all, how to work hard towards a goal. Whilst at RBIS, I am excited to be able to help students achieve their goals both inside and outside of school."
